Gym Rat takes audiences inside the darker side of ambition, obsession, bodybuilding, performance-enhancing drug use, and the pursuit of physical perfection. It follows an ex-con bodybuilder driven by a Mr. Olympia fantasy as obsession, illegal steroids, and a volatile gym environment begin to consume his life.

GYM RAT explores themes that extend beyond bodybuilding and into real-world health. Men using testosterone or anabolic steroids may face important decisions involving cardiovascular health, blood pressure, cholesterol, kidney function, red blood cell levels, sexual health, sleep, mental well-being, and the long-term effects of the substances they use.
